Chapter six.
Josie has her second encounter with Michael Andretti who is her father. The encounter happened at her grandmother's house for a barbecue and for a swim in the pool. Christina and Michael have a hear to heart on the subject of Josie and how he feels towards her on page sixty five. Josie's grandmother soon discovers that Michael is the father and complains to Christina about how she could shame the family with him. Later in the Chapter Christina and Josie have a deep and meaningful talk about how she would have felt without Josie. 'Simple dreams and the hardest to come true' was a quote made by Christina to describe her feelings on page seventy two.
Chapter seven.
Christina and Josie ended up staying and not going away for the Easter. Josie was told to stay at her grandmothers while her mother went to hospital and was told stories of her grandmothers past and about her Zio. We discover information about Josie's Nonna and how she came to live in Australia. She was married off to a man who was fifteen years older than her when she was sixteen and was moved to Australia on page seventy five.
Chapter eight.
We are informed about 'Carly Bishop' who belongs to the 'beautiful people.' Confrontation strikes when Carly describes her problem about a night club, ' there were all wogs. They seem to be everywhere.' Quoted Carly on page eighty one. A verbal fight begins and ends with Carly being hit in the face by Josie and her science book. Carly's very important and well known father is called in and this is where Josie after agreeing to leave and stay out of Michael's life is brought back to needing hm. Josie is dealt with her punishment by Sister Louise on page ninety.
Chapter nine.
Josie make meatloaf for dinner but was soon to discover that Christina was already going out with plan she had made previously. Josie is soon told that her mother was to be going out on a date with Paul Presilio who Josie strongly is against. Josie has her little rage and fit when arguing against her mother and her mother's choice and ends up throwing the meatloaf out.
Chapter ten.
A few weeks have past since Josie started working at McDonald's where it is busily populated by all generations and groups of people from all ages. 'Greg Sim' and her background with him is introduced in to the novel. Greg was her neighbour who hadn't gotten along with Josie or her mother. They weren't on good terms. Greg acted in a manner which was not appropriate and sexually abused Josie and her friend Anna until Jacob Coote came in to save the day with a bloody fist fight. Josie pulled him off and then with a rush of rage went in for a shot by herself. On the journey back to Josie's house Jacob Coote asks her out on a date and she accepts on page one hundred and seven.
