Chapter eleven.
Josie questions her mother's past and motives for why she had Josie and is reassured by Christina. Josie convinces Christina to let her out on a date with Jacob Coote. Christina tells Josie about Paul trying to 'get in to her bed' and warns her to have the same opinion to Jacob Coote if he was to ask her for intercourse, the answer being no!

Chapter twelve.
when Josie is at her grandmothers, she is told stories of her earlier life and her living conditions and tried to get Josie to sympathise for her lifestyle with stories of having snakes in her house on page one hundred and fourteen. Josie finds out about 'Marcus Sandford' being the only Australian to help her grandmother after she received the news of her parents death. Marcus helped Josie's grandmother accept her new home and life in Australia.

Chapter thirteen.
Josie is preparing for her date with Jacob Coote on a Saturday night on page one hundred and nineteen. Christina's first impression of Jacob Coote was horrid as he dress poorly and barely acknowledged Josie's mother, second thoughts of the date stuck her and she nearly stayed home. Jacob Coote acting in such a poor manner without any compassion towards Josie made her flee from the date only to find Micheal (Josie's father) coming to her rescue. Josie returns home and thanks her mother for letting her out.

Chapter fourteen.
Josie is currently working for her father (Micheal) firm. Recent sightings of Jacob Coote left her mind wondering while her biggest problem remained the status of her friendship with John Barton. John tells his problems with his father to Josie for her to comfort him when he feels like a disappointment to his father. Josie expresses her want for Jacob and saying how she wishes he could just walk through the door on page one hundred and thirty seven. She reminds us of how she never feels accepted amongst the Italian community and that she will be and only is remembered for her wrongs.

Chapter fifteen.
Josie and her friends discuss their future vocations while at their weekly gathering at Harley's at Darling Harbour.  We discover new crushes between two groups and old crushes being brought back. Jacob Coote organises to meet Josie on a friday durring school hours, this forcing Josie to wag.

Chapter sixteen.
Chapter sixteen is mostly about Josie and her perfect day with Jacob Coote. Jacob opens up to Josie while lying on the beach and they talk about their families and their pasts. Josie realises she is in love with Jacob at the end of the chapter.
