Chapter seventeen.
In chapter seventeen Josie goes to Adelaide with Michael where she gets a better understanding of him. She discusses Jacob with Michael and they talk about her Christina's first impression had change of him on page one hundred and fifty seven. Michael reveals the story of his past with Christina. Michael has a new girlfriend and Christina has a new boyfriend. Josie and Michael make peace and come to an understanding. Josie feels comforted when she finds out that Michael snores.
Chapter eighteen.
Josie has another outburst and Poison Ivy when Ivy refers to her as a 'new Australian and then an ethnic' on page one hundred and sixty six. Jacob came to Josie's work and surprised her with a new car he had made by hand. Josie quotes 'I pictured myself with Jacob Coote for the rest of my life' on page one hundred ans seventy one.
Chapter nineteen.
Tomato day is introduced as Josie goes on about hating and being embarrassed by her heritage and Josie's grandmother explains more of her past with Marcus and her old label as an 'alien'. We find out about the death of Robertino and how all the Italian men were taking away. The chapter finishes with a quote from Josie on page one hundred and seventy four, ' a tradition that i will probably not let go of either, simply because like religion, culture is nailed into you so deep you can't escape it. No matter how far you run.'
Chapter twenty.
It was the 29h of July and St. Martha's day for their annual walk-a-thon but Josie, Anna, Sera and lee all decided to wag and go to Sebel Town House (a hotel) to find Trey Handcock who is the lead singer from a band called the 'Hypnotists'. Josie feels worried and guilty about skipping but continues to wag the rest of the day. They were caught out and had to go to the office to be dealt with by Sister. Josie is threatened by her solar ship and understands what she did was wrong.
Chapter twenty one.
John Barton phoned Josie and they made plans to see Mac Beth at the cinemas on Tuesday night. When at the movies, Jacob spots them and walks up to them for reasoning of their event. John doesn't back down in the verbal argument and Jacob walks away with Josie left behind with a massive guilt trip. Jacob later comes back for her to drive her home and then make up.
Chapter twenty two.
Spring hits and Christina and Josie decided to go on a splurge and break the budget. They discus Michael and Christina and then go home to do exercise. Josie is optimistic about bringing them to be a couple again.
